It's actually insane that I decided to update this thing exactly a year later. In this day and age, if a person is not blogging every day, then what is the point of having a blog right? I know it's been forever but I had some good excuses. The last year for me was just a whirlwind. I was proposed to on December 30, 2014 and it was truly one of the best days of my life. Sounding unbelievably cheesy and it probably doesn't need to belong here but I feel it is my duty to share it here in case any future employers want to get a better sense of who I am. Having a full time job and planning a wedding was extremely stressful. I lost close to fifteen pounds (and I ate everything in sight). One amazing thing I learned through all of the wedding planning was my ability to get tasks done. It's not easy when you have a list of 20 things that all literally need to get tackled in one day. But, I did it. And, I have become quite the negotiator. Learning how to handle all of this actually made me stronger and a more self-confident person. A lot of people may think that planning a wedding is everyone's excuse for more attention and neglecting others but honestly, it had to be done and if it had to be, it would be done right. It's just one night of your life, but you want to know you put your heart and soul into making it the best for you, your future spouse and your entire family. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing those people genuinely happy and having a good time. Did things go wrong? Did they ever. Chicken was a disaster, music was not loud enough, dress ripped, ceremony music cut sharply and my out of town guests left early. Oh well. What I focused on was the magic of the day and the feeling of knowing my partner and I made this happen. I learned many, many life lessons and I think it's important to say it here, as it was a defining year for me in so many ways and I'll never forget how it turned me into the person I am today.
