Today I decided to feature a song I was insanely gaga over for quite some time...In high school.
Being that I was stuck in the car today for a half hour (even after a 3 hour train ride that was only supposed to take a half hour, thanks gusting 100 km/hr winds. thanks) I decided to dip into my old cd collection. Man I miss Cd's. I fell back in love with Christina Aguilera's song "Walk Away". This song was THE song I played when I thought life was too tough and nobody understood me. You know...normal teenage angst.
As I mentioned on this blog before, Stripped was one of the best albums I have ever owned. Don't know if it got the credit it deserved, but Christina wrote music that should be studied today. Her lyrics are full of pain, disappointment, and heartache. Pure. Raw. Real. She dished it out and I could only hope people paid attention. The lyrics to this song in specific are so poignant and so meaningful you almost want to find Christina and hug her. It's a fantastically written song and the melody attached is just perfect.
I included the lyric version of the video because I thought it would help bring the meaning home. Don't mind the cheesyness.
