The title to this post is purely because that is all I have been singing in my head since I've been majorly addicted to the new Beyoncé album. Wow. So here's the thing about me and Beyoncé songs: there are some I can't get enough of, i.e. XO, Crazy in Love, Dangerously in Love, 1+1, 7/11...you know, those beautiful ballads or just amazing dance hits. There are however songs I can't hear anymore because I will want to scratch my face off - i.e. Single Ladies. I cannot listen to that song. Ever. Or the other one where she says "to the left to the left" - see? I don't even care that I can't remember the name of that damn song.
So what I am trying to say is that there are definitely songs off her albums over the years that I don't care to listen to. But, then comes along her newest one, and every single song is beautiful, touching, inspiring and downright real. Maybe the latter is why I love it so much. She talks about failed marriage, infidelity, race, insecurities, the role of the woman in this day and age...it's pure genius. "All Night" is one of my faves - not just because it's a cutesy sexy song to rock back and forth to, but it reminds me of when I was watching her HBO Special - which by the way was also GENIUS. I'll never forget the moment I was watching it - I was in tears, and then I shared her anger, and then I felt her pain, and then I felt happy again. And, honestly, I think that's what she was going for. To show the true ups and downs of love and life. It's simply beautiful. All of it. No wonder she is the Queen. I hope that everyone gets to watch it at one point in their lives because her monologues are insanely powerful and put me to tears over and over again. I'm not a crier, I assure you. But you can't help it when you feel like you can relate to her pain and her struggle to remain a strong and powerful woman. Life ain't easy and she ain't sugar coating it.
I can't find you a good link but I did find a live version of the song and honestly, what's better than a live version? Especially Beyoncé's.
